This is our adaptation of the pinto beans with the following recipe.
Ingredients
Pinto Beans
  • 4 beef bouillon cubes
  • 1 large quatered onion
  • 6 cloves of garlic pressed
  • 2 tbs chili powder
  • 2 tbs brown sugar
  • ½ tbs freshly ground black pepper

Instructions
  1. Place picked over (soaked if you like) beans, onions and bouillon cubes in a pot with a tight fitting lid.
  2. Fill pot with water by about 2 inches above the beans
  3. Bring water to a boil over high heat
  4. Saute garlic with bacon (that we are not using) in a pan then add to the beans (about 30s)
  5. Reduce heat to and simmer until beans are soft, about 3 – 3.5 hrs
  6. Add more water if needed
  7. Add chili powder, brown sugar, pepper and tapatio.
  8. Simmer for 10 minutes
  9. Let sit for a while.
