Domain Name System (DNS) Primer and Tips

DNS is a rather dry uninteresting topic, at surface level, yet it is __everybodies__ identity on the Internet. Time to take it a little more seriously.

This article will give you a quick, high level overview of the Internets' Domain Name System (DNS).

DNS Overview

DNS is what all computers connecting to the Internet use for translating the (mostly human friendly) domain names, like rustyeddy.com to the (mostly computer friendly) IP Address used to uniquely identify computers connected to the Internet.

For example, my website's domain name is rustyeddy.com. You can access the website at rustyeddy.com.
